Rimmel Nail Polish Collections
Rimmel aka Rimmel London is one of the world’s oldest cosmetics brands.
In 1820, a respected French perfumer who had been trained by the famous Lubin, perfumer to Empress Josephine, the wife of Napoleon I, accepted an invitation to manage a perfumery in London’s prestigious Bond Street. 14 years had passed and the move to London turned out to be a success. In 1834 the parfumer opened a business of his own in Regent Street together with his son and apprentice Eugene Rimmel. The House of Rimmel was established when Eugene was only 14 years old.
After 10 years more, Eugene had become not only an experienced perfumer, but also a cosmetics visionary, always experimenting with colors and fragrances. He was traveling a lot, searching for exotic ingredients and new ideas. Eugene used advertising to bring his products to a wider public. He began to publish illustrated mail order catalogs and to place advertisements in theatre programs.
When Eugene died in 1887, his two sons inherited his beauty empire. They developed an extensive color line with a particular focus on eye-enhancing Rimmel’s mascaras.
After the Second World War, the company changed owners several times before it was finally acquired by Coty Inc. in 1996. Since then Rimmel has established itself as Britain’s best-selling cosmetics brand.
The company’s motto is “Get the London Look”. Fashion made in UK is witty and streetwise. London beauty is all about setting trends, not following them. Rimmel has a wide variety of affordable and colorful high-quality products, including nail polishes, that are designed to enable women to get their own London Look.
