But let’s begin at the beginning :) Take a look at my NOTD – You Rock-apulco Red by OPI (2 coats, daylight):
Today’s post is about a Dance Legend nail polish. It is a Russian professional brand and it’s widely available in Russia. These polishes are quite expensive, about $5-10 per standard bottle depending on the line – there are duochromes, cracks, thermo and magnetic polishes, as well as creams, glitters and shimmers. I read somewhere that all of them are big3free.
I’m not really sure if Dance Legend polishes are sold in any other country besides Russia. Actually I doubt that you guys have seen, heard or tried it… Have a look at its bottle and brush:
Mother Road Rose comes from OPI Red Like Roses collection that was released for Valentine’s Day in 2007. Now it’s in the OPI Classic colors line.
I wasn’t so overwhelmed with Mother Road Rose in the bottle but I actually like it a whole lot on. It’s a deep rose mauve shade with a pink microshimmer, perfect for cold seasons. The color is classic and quite versatile, and it goes with almost anything. Mother Road Rose is not too light or dark, making it a good nail polish suitable for any occasion.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear – Ice Coffee

Moreover, it’s often on sale, and I can find them for less than $2. So even if after buying and applying a Xtreme Wear polish I suddenly realize I don’t like the shade on my nails, I don’t feel like I wasted money on it.

Day 2: ORANGE nails – Cha Cha Cha by Orly
December 26th, 2011 | Posted by in Nail Polish Swatches - (0 Comments)Today’s color is orange, and I decided to show you a nice summer nail polish Cha Cha Cha 48674 from Orly’s Miniature collection. I didn’t have any orange polishes in my stash, so I had to buy this one specially for the Challenge.
Here’s how it looks like – 2 coats of Orly’s Cha Cha Cha without a topcoat:
Please, don’t pay attention to the chocolate in the pic, it’s not an ad by any means :) I just needed something orange to take pics of the mani.
Cha Cha Cha is a bright sunny orange with microshimmer. The application is ok and the polish is of the same quality as you would expect from Orly, but in a small 5.4 ml glass bottle. I like its cheerful color, and I know it will look much better in summer when my hands are at least a little bit tanned and when there’s lots of sun. I’d better keep Cha Cha Cha in my nail polish box until then.
Today we have a grey sky with rain clouds here in Saint Petersburg. The snow that fell last week is all melted now, there’s puddles everywhere and everything is dark and wet outside :( It’s definitely not the time for bight summer colors… and yet, I am to do a yellow mani tomorrow! lol Gotta love this Challenge %)

I Vant to Be A-Lone Star by OPI
December 7th, 2011 | Posted by in Nail Polish Swatches - (1 Comments)I have yet another grey nail polish that I want to show you :) It’s called I Vant to Be A-Lone Star and it comes from OPI Texas collection that was officially launched on 2 February 2011. The polish was created for Spring/Summer season, but I think its color is great for winter time too, because it reminds me of snow.
I Vant to Be A-Lone Star is a pale grey/blue polish with a silver shimmer. It seems to be the lightest and most muted color in the collection.
Application wise it is easy, as always with OPI polishes, and drying time is ok. The first coat is streaky tho, but the second is much better, and by the third coat it seems pretty opaque. What I don’t like is that the brushstrokes are slightly visible :(
