Today’s blue polish is Frisky 48721 and it’s from Orly’s Happy Go Lucky Spring 2011 collection. I also have Fresh from this collection and now I’m thinking of buying Frolic.

Today’s color is green and I painted my nails with Fresh 48722 from Orly’s Happy Go Lucky collection. It’s the only green nail polish I own, I’m not really a fan of green in general, but this very shade looks so vivid and fresh, just like its name says.
3 coats of Orly’s Fresh in the daylight (please, don’t mind such a colorful background that decided to become the foreground >< it's my summer dress with floral print):

Today’s color is orange, and I decided to show you a nice summer nail polish Cha Cha Cha 48674 from Orly’s Miniature collection. I didn’t have any orange polishes in my stash, so I had to buy this one specially for the Challenge.
Here’s how it looks like – 2 coats of Orly’s Cha Cha Cha without a topcoat:

Please, don’t pay attention to the chocolate in the pic, it’s not an ad by any means :) I just needed something orange to take pics of the mani.
Cha Cha Cha is a bright sunny orange with microshimmer. The application is ok and the polish is of the same quality as you would expect from Orly, but in a small 5.4 ml glass bottle. I like its cheerful color, and I know it will look much better in summer when my hands are at least a little bit tanned and when there’s lots of sun. I’d better keep Cha Cha Cha in my nail polish box until then.
Today we have a grey sky with rain clouds here in Saint Petersburg. The snow that fell last week is all melted now, there’s puddles everywhere and everything is dark and wet outside :( It’s definitely not the time for bight summer colors… and yet, I am to do a yellow mani tomorrow! lol Gotta love this Challenge %)

Today’s polish has a weird name Androgynie and comes from Orly’s Holiday Soiree 2011 collection. So far I bought only this one, because 5 other polishes from the collection don’t look very interesting to me. With Androgynie it’s different, from the moment I saw its swatches on the web, I knew I must get it. This black glitter definitely goes right up my alley and my love for dark polishes :)
Androgynie is a black-based jelly polish with tiny holographic gold/silver flecks, and larger green, blue, yellow and orange hex glitter. I needed 3 coats to get the opaque finish I wanted, but it was worth it. I wore it for 3 days and it held up perfectly well.

Now when it’s the time of the year for sparkles and glitters on nails, ORLY, inspired by all things French, offers 6 festive polishes ranging from snowy white shimmer to black jelly with large glitter, and shiny metallics in-between. Each nail polish in the Holiday Soiree 2011 collection comes with a free matching nail file.

Back in November, when I made a swatch of Yves Rocher’s Mauve Leger, I mentioned that YR nail polish bottle was quite small, just 5.5 ml
Guess what? Today’s nail polish, Vert Abysses by Yves Rocher is in a 3 ml bottle :)) They are getting smaller and smaller each time I buy them 0_o and now I’m concerned about how long this polish will last, as I really like the color. Just look at this little cute thingy!

November passed by quickly, and now I can start counting down to Christmas! And what’s even more fun – tomorrow’s my Birthday :)) I’m going to wear Lumene’s Magical Moment, first of all because it’s a nice purple shimmer that goes great with my new dress and second, it’s one of my yet untried polishes. I promise to do its swatch later :)
Anyways, onto today’s polish. Orly’s Purple Velvet is from Matte Couture Collection designed for Fall 2009. It is a medium red based purple cream with just a hint of silver micro sparkles. The shimmer is almost invisible on my nails, but I think it makes the polish look less matte than other plain matte polishes.
Application is fine, no complaints. I needed two coats to get a streak free opaque coverage. I also noticed that Purple Velvet has a lovely satin finish.
2 coats of Orly’s Matte Purple Velvet:

My one continual problem with matte polishes is that they never hide nail ridges :( even the slightest ones… Therefore a base coat is very important (unless you have perfectly smooth nails) as it smoothes out the ridges.
