I have some new colours to show you. It’s a new to me nail polish and nail care brand Berenice. All Berenice products are developed by the Swiss Beauty Seasons company in Switzerland.
I got a base&top set, along with 4 regular nail colours. The products feature the so called “breathable” formula, which means that air oxygen can pass through nail polish layer and reach nail surface. At Berenice they believe it is the healthiest colour solution for nails, because that way nail polish doesn’t block oxygen and water, allowing our nails to breathe and receive hydration. In other words, rock your favourite polish without any damage for your nails :)
For those who are curious to see the “breathable” formula ingredients, here’s a macro of the base and top contents:
Nowadays I often hear that nails don’t really need to breathe, and we should mainly care for nail polishes to be free of toxic ingredients like formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, phthalates, dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Those polishes are called big 5 free, and as you can see, Berenice states their products are free from all that. I cannot comment on whether nail polish should be breathable or not, but I believe in B5F colours.
Now let me show you the colours I received. The first one is a warm nude Berenice 03 Silky Peach from the Classic collection. The polish I liked least from the set, despite the fact that I’m usually a nude nail colour person. It has a good self levelling formula, but it’s not my kind of nude at all, I prefer colder nude shades that have more pink in them. I hand painted black flowers over the colour to make it more wearable.
Next one is an orange beige (?) kind of pearly shimmer Berenice 37 Sparkle from the Extravaganza collection, again not my nail colour at all. I added gold (ORLY Luxe) and military green (Dance Legend Tank) nail art to make the colour look less boring on my nails. Flawless formula, so if you like such kind of shimmers, you might want to try it.
Luckily, the other two colours are right up my alley. The bright red Berenice 13 Orange Red is perfect for spring and summer! It’ll be a one coater for you if you don’t mind a bit visible nail smile line.
The breathable formula is very good, I already wore the red twice, also I think I’ll be wearing it often on my toes during open shoe season.
Also, let me use the opportunity and show you a retro feather ring I got from Born Pretty store. I love how it looks, and what’s more important, it’s adjustable so you don’t have to worry about the correct ring size. I think originally it comes in size 5-5.5, but it can be enlarged. The item’s page is here, currently the ring is on sale for only $1.99 with free shipping. My BPS 10% off code there is MARIX31 in case you like any products in the web store.
Finally, the 4th Berenice colour I got is 15 Pink Ice Cream, a classic cool toned pink creme nail polish. The pink reminds me a lot of OPI Shorts Story, one of my favourite OPIs. I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of this one.
Here’s a negative space nail look I created using Pink Ice Cream. Stamping is done with a large rectangular plate from Born Pretty Store, the item ID is BPX-L018, and its page is here. The plate retails for $2.99 with free international shipping (once again, the code is MARIX31 for full priced items).
Full range of Berenice nail polish and nail care products can be found on their official Russian website here, their catalogue in English is here.
Thank you for looking!
I really like the concept of “breathable” :-) I like the first floral manicure with green and also the last one with pink, beautiful! :-)
