Today’s colours come from the AG by DL Winter 2017 collection. All 6 polishes of the collection are named after Slavic gods. I picked two bottles, a bright orange holo shimmer Yarilo and a dark chocolate holo Veles.
In Slavic mythology Yarilo is a god of passion and springtime. To me the orange shimmer is associated with the Sun and its warmth that makes ice and snow melt.
The pics show Dance Legend Yarilo in 3 thin coats. I sponged Dance Legend Zlata (a golden metallic) on the accent nails and then I stamped sunflowers over the gold gradient.
Application is ok, but I needed 3 coats of Yarilo to hide visible nail line. Drying time is perfect, no need for fast drying top coaters :)
The second colour for today is Veles, a very dark holo nail polish. Just like Yarilo, Veles is a major Slavic god. He represents earth, forests and the underworld.
It’s a chocolate shade with a prominent purple undertone. The more coats the darker chocolate it becomes.
In the pics I have Veles in 3 thin coats, and as you can see it’s dark brown/black in daylight. The holo effect is quite intense, even shadows cannot hide colourful sparkles here and there.
I expected the brown to be softer and more brown than black, that way I could have combined it with Yarilo in a manicure. To my surprise, Veles turned out to be a goth kind of colour (which is not bad on the other hand), it’s one of those polishes that are totally fine by themselves and require no companions.
Yarilo and Veles were sent to me for review from Dance Legend. Both polishes can be found here, in their official online shop.
Thank you for looking!
Loving the chocolate brown
I like both colours, they are very nice and warm :-) Beautiful stamping, too! :-)
