Let’s forget about rainy Autumn for a few minutes, shall we? I have a very cute summer-y mini set of nail polishes to show you!
It’s never to late to try some amazing shades, even though they are out-of-season. The polishes I’m talking about belong to the OPI Retro Summer 2016 mini set. There are 4 colours in 3.75 ml / .125 fl oz bottles: a pastel yellow, orange red, classy pink, and baby blue.
Here’s what OPI says about the colours:
- SPF XXX (NL R69) – a orange-red so hot, it’s off the charts.
- Towel Me About It (NL R67) – this flirty, sunny yellow speaks volumes on style.
- Sailing & Nail-ing (NL R70) – a light, breezy blue to charm your first mate.
- Flip Flops & Crop Tops (NL R72) – the perfect bright pink to go with all your summer faves.
I couldn’t decided upon a single colour to try first, so I used them all in a colourful french tips manicure. To make it more fun I added back dots with a dotting tool.
My first impressions after the design and some colour wheel swatching:
The pale yellow Towel Me About It is a typical yellow creme: the application is ok for that kind of colour, although don’t expect to much from it in terms of colour ‘building’. To reach full opacity you’ll need at least 3 coats. Same with the baby blue Sailing & Nail-ing. Loved the polishes never the less SPF XXX and Flip Flops & Crop Tops are both truly amazing. The orange and pink look great and the formulas are very good.
The OPI Retro Summer mini set was provided to me for review by OPI Russia (Verbena), so a big thank you goes to their wonderful team! :)
Obviously, the polishes are too good to be left alone – I’ll make proper swatches of them, and I’ll post more about the colours.
Thank you for looking!
Really nice colours! I like the manicure, simple but very nice! :-)
