#31DC2016 – Stripes

Black and white stripes nail design

Day 12 of the annual Nail Challenge is about stripes. Let me show you my nails I did for the day:

Dance Legend Spot It! White

The black and white striped manicure features two Dance Legend polishes that were released recently. The white is a fancy top coater that gives you a spotted finish. I remember OPI had a black topper called Black Spotted in their Spiderman collection that they released for Sephora France. I don’t have the OPI, but judging by its online swatches, the effect was the same.

Here’s the white Spot It! by Dance Legend in its mini 6.5ml format:

Dance Legend Spot It! White

The black mini bottle is a stamping polish, well pigmented and of the right thickness. Perfect for stamping if you ask me :) I have a feeling I’ll be using it in nail designs pretty often. Also comes in the DL mini bottle of 6.5ml

To achieve the negative space black and white stripes nail design applied the white top coater on a wet clear base by ORLY. Please, note that the decorative topper won’t work with dry nail polish! It becomes “spotted” only on wet nails. Also, the label says the DL topper shouldn’t be top coated. That’s what differs the DL from OPI Black Spotted: the OPI should be applied on dry nails and sealed with a topper.

When the white dried completely, I stamped black stripes and tiny squares with a hehe plate and the black DL.

Both polishes can be found in the Dance Legend online store, the white Spot It! is for $8.00 and the black stamping nail polish is for $6.00
