Black french tips

Lately I’ve been very much into all kinds of barely there nail designs and polishes: sheer jellies and crellies, negative space, clear based glitters, naked nails stamping etc.

I’ve been looking for a sheer black jelly for a while and never found anything that’s close to what I want, so I ended up with a handmade black jelly. I wouldn’t say the polish I made is perfect, in fact I’m not good at making nail polish, but I like the result anyways. I just added a few drops of a black creme to a 2/3 used clear fast drying top coater. I shook the bottle and I got an almost transparent black polish that reminds me of those colourful nail paints. The idea is old and I’ve seen sheer polishes/designs on other blogs, so no credits to me :)

I think I’ll make a few more colourful nail paints to be completely happy, partially because making the black jelly didn’t cost me a thing. I was going to throw away that almost used top coater, and now I can use it again. It was a fast drying top, and the polish I made dries in seconds, therefore I wear it with a base to protect my nails.

On my nails I have a coat of ORLY top coater, 2 coats of the sheer black, and black french tips that I did with a regular black nail polish. Decorative text patterns are water decals.

Thank you for looking! ;)
