Dark khaki nails with OPI Nein, Nein, Nein! Ok Fine!

In accordance with today’s rainy autumn day I have a dark khaki nail look with a negative space accent:

Dark khaki nails

The base khaki green creme is OPI with a rather flirtatious (?) name Nein, Nein, Nein! Ok Fine! The color comes from the OPI Germany nail polish collection that was released for Fall 2012, and the code of the polish is NL G21. I rarely wear it, but I love the color, it has a true late autumn feel to it. Gloomy, cold, dark and misty.

On my nails I have 2 coats of Nein, Nein, Nein! Ok Fine! with a glossy fast drying top. Two stripes on the accent nail are also done with the OPI.

To accentuate the stripes I used a dark copper striping tape – I like it how the copper color matches the suede jacket :)

Thank you for looking!

This design is very nice, I love the copper striping tape even without your coat, I think it goes very well with this polish, makes it more elegant and less gloomy. Did you use anything – and if yes, wat – for the “negative space” to make it look less orange? I mean my nails are always kind of orange due to constant use of polishes. If your nails are not like mine, could you please tell us what base coat do you use? thanks in advance! :)

Hi :) I’m glad you liked the look! As far as I remember, I didn’t used anything for the “space”, it’s the color of my nails. I only used a clear glossy top to seal the striping tape and make the nail surface even. To be honest my nail tips (below VNL) are also a bit orange, thats why I always cover them with a coloured polish if I go for a nude/negative space look.
I usually go without base if I use a nail polish of a light color, and if I paint my nails bright or dark I always use a base. Currently my fav bases are ORLY Nail Defense and peel off glitter bases from Dance Legend. I wouldn’t say that they are perfect, but is there a perfect base that works for everybody?.. Anyways, I found out that peel off bases work great for me when I want to prevent my nails from staining.
