Maple Holistics Pomegranate natural lip balm: review and nail art

In my previous but one post I told you about Maple Holistics and their shampoo and conditioner. That time I also promised you a nail art inspired by Maple Holistics products – it’s still a nail polish blog, right? :) So here we go:

Maple Holistics Pomegranate natural lip balm

First off, let me explain the idea behind the maple leaves nail design. Maple Holistics has a maple leaf in its log, and the prevailing corporative colors are white, orange and brown.

I used the colors in the nail design, transforming the brown and orange into autumn rust stripes and I used maple leaves water decals to “transfer” the logo of the company.

According to the label, the lip balm is all-natural and is supposed to repair/support dry and chapped lips. The formula contains beeswax, aloe vera, vitamin E, sunflower, coconut, castor, cocoa butter and shea butter. The company claims the balm is paraben-free, GMO-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free and soy-free… Well, this all sounds good :)

Like all Maple Holistics products the lip balm is made in the US. There’s a seal to ensure that it’s tamper-proof:

What I like about the lip balm is that it’s clear and doesn’t color my lips. On the other hand I cannot say that it moisturizes my lips as well as it can be expected considering the fact that there are so many wonderful natural ingredients added to the formula. The “powers” of the balm are ok but I have lip balms that work better for me. Overall, it’s not that bad, but it’s not perfect for my lips either. Will I be using it? Yes, I’ve already put it in one of my purses :)

I couldn’t find the lip balm on Maple Holistics website, but I googled it and it turned out that they have lip balms of 4 flavours (vanilla, acai berry, peppermint and pomegranate), and I think they send them as a bonus gift (but I may be wrong). To be honest I’d choose vanilla or acai berry, but since it’s a complimentary gift I don’t mind pomegranate, even though it smells more like a cherry candy.
