OPI Absolutely Alice

Absolutely Alice is one of the most precious OPI polishes in my collection. I remember I wanted to have it so much, and I was so happy when I bought it.

OPI Absolutely Alice was released five years ago, in January 2010, together with three more polishes in the OPI Alice in Wonderland collection. The collection was inspired by by Tim Burton’s extravagant adaptation of the children’s story Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp starring as the Mad Hatter.

I’m a huge fan of the book, and I also liked the movie, I love blue nail polish and I love OPI… everything was making me want the polish pretty muchly! I bought Absolutely Alice as soon as I saw it in the local beauty store. I know many girls preferred Mad as a Hatter (multicoloured glitter) to the blue glitter, but for some reason I stayed absolutely calm about that OPI, never wanted to have it. However, both glitters really got the nail polish world talking.

A not very succcessful try at a macro pic of the golden/blue glitter:

Absolutely Alice has a nice formula even now, after five years. It’s a clear based blue and gold glitter, and its only disadvantage is that its very sheer. The glitter needs 3-4 layers to reach a decent opacity. I prefer to apply it as a top over a gold or blue. ORLY Luxe works great as a background for the glitter.

On my nails I have 1 coat of ORLY Luxe, 2 coats of OPI Absolutely Alice and a clear fast drying top coat.
