The Hammering collection by Dance Legend: Creep and Map of Scars

Today I”m excited to show you my swatches of two nail polishes from a new Dance Legend collection titled the HammeRing. The collection features the so-called hammer textured metal finish.

I guess it is a fresh take on metallics. I know that textured metal is often used for jewellery and home decor, but it’s for the first time I hear that the look can be recreated on nails :)

There are 6 polishes in the HammeRing collection, and I was sent 2 of them for reviewing: the 1st one is Creep and the other one is Map of Scars. Both polishes are well pigmented one coaters that don’t require a top.

Map of Scars is a bit dusty pinkish purple metallic. The formula is quite thick (because of the textured effect) but at the same time very workable. I was surprised by how easy it was to apply the polish. In the following 2 pics I have 1 coat of Map of Scars with no base or top.

Let me show you the hammer metal finish in a macro:

Next is a light blue metallic with gray undertones, and it’s called Creep:

The polish is applied in 1 coat over naked nails, and there’s no top coating.

And here we have 2 hammering metallics together – that was not a manicure, I was just curious to see the polishes next to each other :)

Personally I find the hammer textured metal look quite fresh and interesting, with just enough edge. The best part is that you can super easily achieve the look with just one coat of the polish, no need to use sponges/brushes or special top coats. Also, I had no issues with removing the polishes, they didn’t stain my nails, and they came off quickly, just like regular metallics.

Right now I don’t see the collection on the DL official web store, and I don’t know how much they will cost, but if you are interested to know more about the hammering polishes, you can follow Dance Legend on Instagram, where they daily post manicures done with their polishes, and info on new releases :)
Thank you for looking!

  1. I am not a big fan of metallic polishes but with this texture I would definitely were it too! Love your swatches.

I love the names and the colours! :) Thoguh I can’t help thinking that the effect resembles the one you get when you go to bed with your nails not fully dry :)

hehe :) I partially agree with you, the texture is quite unusual and perhaps may look a bit messy :)

  3. They look very interesting, I’ve never seen something like them before… I like Creep :-)
