I’m continuing my experiments with different kinds of nail wraps and stickers. For today I have a set of Melodi nail stickers that I received from Born Pretty Store for review.
First of all, here’s a pic of the set in its package:
… and when I opened it, I saw 14 sparkling silver nail stickers with their length being 30mm and width varying from 17.5 to 10mm – I must say the stickers looked very beautiful and promising!
At the back of the package there were instructions of how to use the stickers. Everything seemed to be easy, and I was promised to get a gorgeous manicure in no time. All I needed to do was to choose a sticker of an appropriate size, peel it off the protective base layer and apply it to my nail. Basically, that’s exactly what I tried to do, but unfortunately it didn’t work for my nails :(
First of all, the wraps are quite thick and sadly they are not stretchy. With my arched nail beds it’s crucial for full size nail wraps to be able to stretch and adjust to my nails, and as you can guess, with the wraps it didn’t happen. I got quite noticeable wrinkles at the sides and tips of my nails. I had to remove the stickers, and to find another way of applying them. The solution came pretty soon. I decided to cut the stickers in stripes and to use them as decorations over a nail polish. This time everything went well, and I had a nice winter-y manicure in no time :)
Overall, I liked the end result, although I didn’t like the fact that the nail stickers didn’t fit my nails like they were supposed to. If you have nail beds that are not as curved as mine, you can try the stickers (the set’s full name is MELODI MD 1005S) and perhaps you’ll get better results. These and other nail wraps can be found at the online Born Pretty Store here
That’s it for today :) Thank you for looking!
