OPI Ski Slope Sweetie

It’s a polish I wore twice this March in snowy days. This OPI comes from Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection, and it’s a sheer champagne white with a healthy dose of golden shimmer.

Ski Slope Sweetie is not a typical color I would buy, it’s too gold and too pearly for my usual self… and still the polish is in my collection now. I got used to its pearly nature because it’s not streaky at all, and as for the golden shimmer, it reminds me of two things: a) Christmas ornaments and b) ivory wedding dresses. The shimmer is mostly golden, but it shows some green and pink tones in the bottle that are hardly visible in real life.

The pics show 4 thin coats of OPI Ski Slope Sweetie with a clear fast drying top. The first 2 coats are quite sheer, and the 3rd one still leaves the nail line visible. I know that application in 4 coats sounds time taking and in fact it does take time. If you are in a hurry, the polish can be layered over a (milky) white base.

I must say I didn’t had high hopes for the polish when I bought it, but I changed my mind when I applied it, the shimmer turned out to be quite pretty :)

  2. Four layers are a bit too much, but the final result is beautiful! :-)

I agree, it’s a lot of layers, but the polish can be layered over a white base for better drying time, and also I saw girls applying it over red and blue :)

  3. Beautiful, such a delicate color!
