Color block with lilac studs

I don’t do tape designs very often, mainly because I have little patience waiting for my nails to dry enough each time before applying tape. However this time I did a color blocking nail design to match lovely lilac studs that I got from the Born Pretty Store:

To make the manicure look more balanced, I chose the polish of the same lilac shade as the studs. Light brown and purple were chosen as reminders of autumn.

Lilac and purple color block nails

For the lilac/purple/brown color block nails I used the following polishes:

  • China Glaze Kalahari Kiss – a very strange shade of brown. It’s hard to call it brown, as I see a lot of yellow in it. The name and the color remind me of desert sands and camels. I remember I bought it for its uniqueness :D
  • Rimmel Sir, Yes Sir! – a dark purple polish, nothing unique about this one
  • Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth – the polish happened to be of the same color as the studs, and that’s how it made its way into the design

As for the lilac studs, they turned out to be just like I imagined them. They are 2mm in size, flat, and made of aluminium. I had no issues while applying and wearing them. The studs didn’t get caught on things, and stayed on my nails until I removed them. On the product page it’s said that there are around 200 studs in each bag. I didn’t count how much of them are in the bag that I received, but it must be enough for several manicures :)

The studs’ usual price is $4.99, but currently they are on sale for $2.99 Also, feel free to use the coupon code MARIX31 to get a 10% off your purchase (for any items that are not on sale) in the Born Pretty Store.

I’m glad you liked the studs in the manicure! They are really good, they are small and flat and therefore very wearable :) and I love their neon lilac colour :)

Love the colour combo you chose, they look so good together. I have little patience for tape manicures, as well, but I always love the results. :p

Thank you Raquel! You are right, with tape it’s much easier to paint crisp and straight lines :) even if it’s time consuming.

:)) Yes, the thing is the lilac studs looked so very bright and summer-y, and I tried to find a way to merge them into a fall manicure :)

  9. WOW these are amazing! Since I can’t draw well, I’m a sucker for tape manis. Although yours looks way neater and better than mine ever do!!!

Thank you :)) Tape nail art has lots of possibilities, there are so many colors to mix and combinations to try :) To get straight lines I always try to stick tape to my nails as well as possible, to prevent nail polish getting under it..

  10. This is so beautiful :)
