Silver lace

Today I’ve got some 3D lace nail stickers to show you. I was sent these from Born Pretty Store to review. I’m not a huge fan of 3D stickers, as you may know already, I prefer water decals. However, this product caught my eye, and here the stickers are – on my nails:

The 3D stickers came without packaging, just like this:

Lace 3D nail stickers

There are two different shapes on this sheet. Being a practical girl, I counted all the stickers %) If I’m not mistaken, there are 86 triangle lace stickers, which means it’s enough for at least 8 full manicures. Also there’re over 40 long chain-like stickers that I’m yet to try. This generous sized pack will last a long time for sure.

The 3D nail stickers came with no directions for use, so here’s my own way of applying and wearing them:

  1. Paint your nails with a color of your choice and wait for them to dry really well.
  2. Pick the sticker that you want to use and lift it carefully from the backing using a sharp ended instrument – I used my own nails %)
  3. The glue on these is not very sticky so you need to use a clear polish or top coat to glue them. Put a little bit of polish on the sticker’s back side using a thin nail art brush, and then press the sticker firmly on the nail.

For the background I chose Orly GoGo nail polish, which is an off white creme with fine silver glitter. After applying the stickers I didn’t top coat the design, because I wanted to keep the silver lace 3D effect, and the top coat would have smoothed it all out.

While wearing the manicure, it felt as if I have some sort of fine medieval armour… on the tips of my nails :)) and I liked the look!

Next day, after 2 showers and some housework, the shine dulled down, probably because I didn’t use top coat. Overall, I can say that if you’re pressed for time and need to have your nails ready for a party or any other event, these 3D silver stickers can definitely help you to achieve an elegant and edgy look.

Those are really pretty. I swore off stickers though as they are a huge ordeal to remove. Much worse than any glitterbomb or fuzzycoat polish. I think I will stick with handpainted designs. It’s much easier and gentler on my fragile nails. I really do like this look though. It looks like silver butterfly wings!

Thank you Cindi, I’m glad you like the lace pattern :) Butterfly wings.. hmm.. it didn’t come to my mind, but now when you mentioned it, I see some resemblance. These were not that hard to remove, I just put a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover on them and waited for the clear polish under them to become soft, and then I simply lifted the stickers from the nails. Although removing water decals or hand painted designs is faster and easier, you are right :)

  2. Ahh silver and white go so well, you chose a perfect combo :) I’m liking the chains best lol, I’m curious! Kisses

Thank you Cristina! I like the silver chains too, will do a design with them as well :)

  3. It’s a very pretty mani, I’m pretty sure I would be a bit annoyed of the thickness of the stickers, I’m sure they would make me pick my nails LOL

It is very simple indeed :) but I forgot to mention, that the stickers fit only 8 of my nails, as they were too big for my pinkies, and I had to cut one edge of the stickers.

  6. These are nice, I keep seeing them here and there in the blogs and I’d love to try them. And I like how you combine colours: white and silver look so pure and elegant together :)
