Happy Sunday everyone! I’m continuing with my swatches of Shimmer nail polishes, and today’s glittering beauty is called Mary:
Shimmer Mary is a mix of red and purple glitters with some larger hex glitters in black and silver. The base is red tinted, so the glitter is wearable on its own.
Close up of the glitter, 3 coats, no top coat:
On my nails Mary is layered over OPI Color So Hot It Berns, my favorite red nail polish with semi-jelly formula. Just like with any previous Shimmer polish I tried, I needed only 1 coat of Mary to reach the opacity I wanted, and most importantly I didn’t have to fish for glitter.
The OPI made Mary a little bit brighter, and the contrast of the black and silver glitters against the berry red background became more obvious. Also, I went with black half moon design to draw all attention to the black hex glitters, that I particularly like about Mary :)
Take a moment to visit Shimmer Polish blog and their shop on Etsy, you will find many unique glitters there, as well as wonderful swatches by other bloggers :)
… aaand that’s it for today, thank you for reading and being with me ♥
*The product was sent to me for review
That’s a gorgeous way to present Mary, Mari ;) (sorry couldn’t help myself) – but I meant it, it’s a beautiful mani!
hehe thank you Maria! :)
This is so lovely Mary is a gorgeous polish, I’m not crazy about half moon manicures but this one looks so good :D
Thank you :) I don’t often do half moons, but I like them for their ability to make my nails visually a bit longer and “slender” (with proper colors).
I love it! :) So sexy with the feathers!
Red and black together make a classic combo, always a statement :)
This is such a beautiful mani but all I can see are ladybugs (I sincerely thought that was what you were going for!)!
hehe thank you Stacy! To be honest, I also thought of ladybugs when I painted black half moons over this red glitter :))
I’ll need a to do a proper ladybug nail look now when it’s still summer! :)
This nail polish looks gorgeous! I would definetly wear it!
Thank you Roxy! It really is :)
