Sally Hansen 350 Misbehaved – nail polish strips

I’ve seen Sally Hansen nail polish strips on other beauty blogs many times, but I never thought I’ll try them myself, mostly because of their fairy high price. Seriously, I’m not ready to pay over $12 for just one manicure, considering the fact that I love to change my nails every other couple of days.

Well, never say never :) Here I am, wearing the nail polish strips. I got them for free as a bonus to my purchase of some other Sally Hansen products. There were just a few patterns to choose from, and I decided upon #350, which is the black fishnet on a gold background, called Misbehaved:

The box comes with 16 nail strips in several sizes, a mini nail file, a mini cuticle stick, and a detailed illustrated instruction. Here’s a pic of 3 strips:

  • the biggest one – 30x18mm (they were too wide even for my thumbs)
  • a middle sized – approx 30x12mm
  • the smallest strip – 30x8mm (they were too narrow for my pinkies)

It was easy to match up the rest of the nail strips to my nails for a perfect fit. I used the second smallest stripes on my pinkies and the second largest on my thumbs. The instructions tell you to remove nail polish if you have any on, file your nails, push your cuticles back, buff your nails, and finally, to apply the strips. I also applied a basecoat and I didn’t regret it, as it turned out the strips reveal all the ridges.
Also I didn’t use the mini nail file, my regular glass file was more than enough to file away the excess.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the strips. I wore the manicure for two days (without a topcoat), and it was all fine, no tip wear. I’m not sure about the promised 10 days, but I think my nails would have easily looked ok for a couple more days.

Did I like the nail stripes? Yes. They are easy to apply, and you get a perfectly even and effortless metallic fishnet design on both hands, that Sally Hansen calls “Salon Effect”. No clean ups, no drying time :) You can also use the Misbehaved stripes for accent nails, painting the rest of your nails black, or gold, or any other matching color.
Would I buy them for their full price? No. Like I said it’s a lot of money for a manicure :\ If I ever see the nail polish stripes on sale at a reasonable price, I might try other patterns :)

Thank you for reading! :) See you xxx

  3. They really do look pretty, but I agree, I would also not pay that kind of money for them, but it could be fun to try once…

Thank you Maria! That’s exactly what I thought – the nail strips are fun to try once, just to know what they are, but they are sure not for everyday..

  4. I really like the pattern, but I agree with you about the price… And yes, it would be interesting trying this kind of manicure sometimes :-)

  5. wow you managed to place them perfectly, I haven’t tried any strips it’s just too expensive and I would want to take them off in a few hours

Just in a few hours? :)) Well, at least taking them off wouldn’t be a problem, the strips can be removed with a regular nail polish remover. It’s not that easy as with a creme nail polish, but easier than with a glitter :)

      1. I get bored quite easily ^_^ a day tops and that’s still to short
