Stripes – one of those super simple and easy ways to add interest to any manicure. You can paint them bright to get a fun summer look, or you can do them in pastel colors to achieve a tender look, and that’s exactly what I did:
The stripes are not perfectly straight, because I painted them freehand, and to be honest I wasn’t trying to be very careful… aaand I don’t always have the patience to use striping tape :D
To start, I applied two coats of OPI Alpine Snow – still my all time favorite white – and waited for my nails to dry. Next I painted the stripes with pink and lilac using a nail art brush. The design looked ok but kinda flat, so I outlined the stripes with thin silver lines.
The colours I used:
- OPI Alpine Snow – a pure white background colour
- Essie Need a Vacation – pastel pink
- Lumene First Spring – lilac pastel
- Orly Dazzle – silver stripes
- Clear top
Another good thing about vertical stripes is that they help my nails look a little longer – gotta love them, right? ^^
Thank you for reading! ♥

Благодарю :) Очень рада, что Вам понравилось!
A pretty sight for any pastel lover = ME ;)
hehe that makes two of us! I’m crazy over pastels ^^
beautiful!
Thank you Nidia!
So beautiful! The silver outlines are perfect.
Thank you Lindsay :)
I like the stripes :D I like the soft colors you chose :)
Pastel cremes are my most favourites :))
Beautiful pastel stripes! I don’t have patience for striping tapes either. I think freehanding is a great way of exercising the ability of doing straight lines even if they don’t get completely perfect.
Very true :) Lines always should be straight with contrasting colors, while with pastels it’s not that important imo. Small imperfections are hardly noticable in rl :)
Wow these are so pretty with the silver outline!
Thank you Jacqui! :)
