Half moon nails with laces

You’re Such a Kabuki Queen is a medium hot pink nail polish, released with the OPI Japanese collection for Spring/Summer season in the distant year of 2005. Today I’d love to show you the color in a combo with light pink and white laces :)

Pink half moon nails

On my nails here you can see 3 thin coats of You’re Such a Kabuki Queen over a clear base. In the bottle the polish looks like a creme, but when applied it feels somewhat jelly-like. The formula is great, as usually with OPI. The 1st coat is streakless and smooth, but the nail line is visible and it doesn’t disappear after the 2nd coat. I wore the polish solo several times already, and the VNL looked natural and didn’t bother me. However, this time I thought I’d rather hide it under the 3rd layer, since I was going to do a half moon design.

3D bowknot nail design

For the half moons part I chose a light pink colour that matches the pink 3D bowknots.

Pink bowknots on nails

Bowknots usually look good with dots and laces, so I added white lace water decals to outline the half moons.

Overall, for the pink half moon nails with bowknots I needed:

  • Orly Nail Defense clear base
  • OPI You’re Such a Kabuki Queen – base colour
  • Essie Need a Vacation – currently it’s my go to light pink
  • Lace decals
  • 3D pink bowknots
  • Clear top

I’ve just looked for it on the OPI website directory, there’s no such color any longer, but I think it was in their core collection for some time, because I bought my Kabuki Queen last year :)

    Simply adorable!!
How well does that bow stay on? I feel like I would pull it off the first opportunity I got :D

:)) the bows stayed on my nails all day long, and despite of their rather big size they didn’t bother me at all. Of course I was careful when washing hands and so on, but it was no harder than when wearing rhinestones..

  5. Perfect idea cute lace. Bravvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvo
