It was supposed to be a swatch of Avon’s Lemon Sugar, which is a beautiful pale yellow creme, but in the last moment I decided to do a pink gradient on the tips. Then, while waiting for the gradient to dry, I took a thin nail art brush aaand…
… and I ended up with this abstract nail design. I guess the post is not about Lemon Sugar any longer :D It’s not easy to see the base color under the abstract pink rope ladders (I don’t know how else to call them lol).
Let me just tell you that I love this pastel yellow, it’s not bright and not warm and therefore goes ok with my skin tone.
Lemon Sugar is a perfect color to wear in summer, so I’ll swatch it properly soon. It’s very close to my other favorite among yellow cremes, Lemonade by Orly. Perhaps Avon is a bit lighter, and it’s even better :)
Overall, for the pink to yellow gradient nails I needed:
- Clear base
- Avon Lemon Sugar – pastel yellow creme nail polish for the background
- Orly Hot Stuff – pink on the tips
- Clear top
The abstract rope ladders are painted freehand with Lemon Sugar and Hot Stuff. They were actually very easy to do, just 2 vertical wavy lines and a couple of short horizontal lines for each nail.
That’s it for today :) Thank you for stopping by! Have a good weekend ♥
