Today’s polish is Lumene #2 Late Winter (or Kevättalvi in Suomi). I bought the color about a month ago, and postponed swatching it till the real late winter… and I missed the moment! I completely forgot about this beautiful taupe, and found it in the nail polish box only yesterday. I think I owe this polish an apology, no matter how weird it may sound.
Let’s start with its portrait, shall we?
I also took a pic of Lumene Late Winter with its friends – OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know? (on the left) and OPI You Don’t Know Jacques (on the right):
As you can see, Late Winter belongs to light cremes, and that makes it a good base for romantic nail designs :) This time I used it for a vintage themed manicure with butterflies and laces.
For the background I used Lumene Late Winter applied over Orly Nail Defense base. The application was ok and I got a smooth opaque finish in 2 coats. After the polish was dry to the touch, I added a few fan brush strokes with OPI Alpine Snow, and over it all I stamped butterflies and lace (the idea was to add some vintage to the design).
Overall, for the vintage lace nail art with butterflies I needed:
- Orly nail Defense – clear base
- Lumene Late Winter – light taupe creme
- OPI Alpine Snow – white creme for the background
- Konad black and white polishes
- Konad m50 stamping plate (butterflies and a small lace pattern)
- Clear top
Ok, my short nail-polish-blog-post break is over and now I’m back to work :) I hope you liked the vintage design and the stamped butterflies. See you soon xxx
