Sakura blossom season 2013

Every year about this time, Japanese weather services and media follow the so called “cherry blossom front”, as sakura blossom season comes to Japan. From late March to mid-April sakura flowers cover the country with a soft pink blanket. Mesmerizing view, if only I could see it in rl… Well, for now I did a sakura nail design :)

Sakura blossom nails

This time I didn’t paint anything, I simply used sakura nail decals, so yes, you can say that I cheated :D Tho I admit I liked the result never the less. The water decals were easy to apply, and I needed just a couple of minutes to do this cheery blossom look with a Japanese pagoda on my accent nails.

For the background I used my favorite white creme OPI Alpine Snow (3 coats), and I sponged some pale pink over it to make the background more airy and ‘alive’.

The products I needed for the sakura blossom nails:

  • Clear base
  • OPI Alpine Snow – pure white creme nail polish
  • Essie Need a vacation – light pink creme
  • Japanese sakura water decals
  • Clear top

As always, thank you for looking! See you soon ♥

Hello Latifah and thank you! If you mean my honeycomb nails in this post, I painted the design freehand with a thin nail art brush and acrylic paints.
