Black & white top – Aztec 07 by Dance Legend

It was supposed to be a post with swatches of a simple mani featuring my new black and white top coat over a grey base, but then I though that all of you saw such combos many times before. Boring and not that unique any longer. That’s why I came up with this design:

I’m not saying it’s something totally new and amazing (because it’s not), but the design was fun to do anyway :) For this look I used Dance Legend #07 – a black and white top from the DL Aztec collection of art tops:

To make the post more informative, I picked 5 random base colors to show you the polish layered over them in 1 coat.

The colors on the wheel are:

1. A-England Galahad
2. Lumene Late Winter
3. Essie Navigate Her
4. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Wet Cement
5. A-England Guinevere

Black & white over grey is a classic trio, and I also liked the top over the teal base.

And now back to the design, a close up:

You might have noticed a black heart shaped rhinestone in the first pic. The thing is I wasn’t sure if it’s ok or “too much” to use it, that’s why I posted pics with and without the heart for you to decide :)

Overall, for the grey and white nail design with lace and words I used:

• Orly Nail Defense clear base
• Sally Hansen Wet Cement grey base color
• OPI Alpine Snow white creme
• Dance Legend Aztec top #07
• Black acrylic paint
• Clear top to seal the acrylic lace design

The grey/white color block is done with tape, the text and laces are painted freehand. I had no idea what to write on my accent nail, so I just painted “Lost” and “ivea”, because I was lost and I had a Nivea hand cream on the desk in front of me. Silly I know %)
