Some nail polishes should be left alone. Simply because they look better on their own, and after several design fails tries you understand they are not that good for nail art. Let me show you the polish I’m talking about – it’s a liquid sand from Dance Legend called Wine Stone:
I made an attempt to do a color block nail art with this one, and it was a big fail.
I tried to combine Wine Stone with a beige creme. The colors looked great together, but the problem with this polish was that the liquid sand texture doesn’t allow top coating. As you know, a clear top coat makes almost any design look better, brighter and smoother. Especially it works great for tape nail art, when you want to get an even colorful geometry on your nails.
I got uneven design, and the color blocking weren’t neat because Wine Stone is quite thick and grainy. I knew I won’t be able to top coat it, but I hoped the result will look ok without it. It didn’t… Well, we learn as long as we live, right? :)
I didn’t even take pics of the design, and today I have only Wine Stone swatches for you. Here’s the bottle and the silver shimmer in the dark pinkish red base:
The pictures show 2 coats of Dance Legend Wine Stone over 1 clear base coat.
Wine Stone’s formula is not that easy to work with. It’s thick and I had to be very careful applying it. I also had to clean and smooth out the cuticle line with a thin brush and SH nail polish remover. Good thing is it didn’t stain my skin and nails.
Wine Stone comes from Dance Legend Sahara Crystal collection that includes 18 liquid sands of different colors. Last week I posted almost black nail polish from that collection, you can find its swatches here.
That’s it for today, thank you for reading! :)

The end result is pretty even if the formula wasn’t easy – and the color matches perfectly with that scarf/fabric you are holding :)

Thank you Ina :)
