Temerian fleur-de-lis

February 11th, 2013 | Posted by Mari in Fantasy | Nail Art Designs

Hello! Today I’d love to show you my nail design for Day 28: Inspired by a Flag, from 31 Day Challenge. I didn’t want to use real flags, that’s why I looked for inspiration in the world of Xbox. Soon enough I found Temerian black and white flag, and now my manicure looks like this:

The kingdom of Temeria exists in the Witcher gaming world. Temeria’s population includes humans, dwarves, elves, gnomes, dryads and some cute monsters. It is a powerful country, ruled by King Foltest who lives in the Royal Palace in Vizima – Temerian capital. Sadly Foltest is assassinated in the Witcher 2, but that’s not the point of today’s story.

Temeria has silver (sometimes white) fleur-de-lis on a black background as its emblem. Here’re its flag and coat of arms:

For my black nail art with a fleur-de-lis as an accent I used one of my favorite blacks – Cult Nails Nevermore. It’s a pure super shiny black creme, a well pigmented one coater. Here I applied two thin coats, because I knew I’ll be swatching it and I wanted to be sure that coverage is faultless.

Overall, for the fleur-de-lis nail design in black and white I needed:

  • Lumene Gloss and Care base
  • Cult Nails Nevermore
  • White acrylic paint
  • Clear top

Black nail design with lilies

The lily is painted freehand with white acrylic paint. I know not everyone loves black nails, but sometimes I want my nails black just for a day – it’s like a special kind of palette cleanser for me :) This time it turned into Day 28: Inspired by a Flag design.

Thank you for reading! See you soon, as I’ll be back with more cheerful designs! xxx
