Milky glitter – Sugar Glaze by Dance Legend

Love at first brush stroke. Seriously, I was pleasantly surprised how well it behaves and looks on my nails.

Dance Legend Sugar Glaze 946

Sugar Glaze is a combo of red and blue hex glitter and small round glitter suspended in a milky base with a hint of light pink/lilac. The polish comes from Dance legend Fruity Milk collection for Spring 2013. There’re 6 pastel glitters in the collection, I got 2 of them, and later I’ll do a comparison :)

I’m not fond of glitters, as it always takes so much effort, polish remover and time to take them off… and the more layers, the harder it gets. However this time it was different – the pics here show just 1 coat of Sugar Glaze over a coat of Lumene base.

The glitter’s milky base is quite opaque. I applied 1 rather thick coat, and there were no bold spots. To be completely honest, I need to mention that the base I used (Lumene Gloss & Care) is of sheer nude coloring, and therefore it also gave my nails a bit of opaqueness.

Next time I use Sugar Glaze I’ll choose a milky base again or a nude nail polish. Another way of wearing it is to apply 2 coats of the polish, but it’ll bring more glitter to my nails and the whole look won’t be so light and airy. In the pics you can see VNL, usually I don’t like it, but with this glitter it looks ok and even adds to the light pastel theme of the manicure – super pretty and feminine! The application was easy, partially thanks to the sheer white base of Sugar Glaze. No clean up was required. The polish dried to a bit gritty finish as is normal with glitters. 1 coat of a clear top did the magic.

Overall, I’m very happy about this milky glitter from Dance Legend, and I’m sure I’ll wear Sugar Glaze this spring not once. Red, blue and pinkish white may sound like a bold combination, but this time it worked and I ended up loving this romantic look :)

Thank you for reading and I see you soon ♥

Have you tried the peel-off base coat? Perfect for glitters… I did a blog post about it last september:

Thank you Ina :) I have heard about the peel-off base from Innisfree as well as from Essence (maybe some other brands have it too), tho I still haven’t tried it. I’m sure it works, but for some reason I don’t feel comfortable about the idea of applying glue on my nails.. I removed one coat of Sugar Glaze relatively easily and I think for now I’ll just stick to the “1 coat” way of wearing glitters :)

  4. I really like how this looks I wonder can it be worn alone is it opaque enough? And for the glitters I’ve started using Essence Peel off base coat and I really like it, no mess no scrubbing no foils I just take it off
