Dance Legend liquid sand in Caravan

February 20th, 2013 | Posted by Mari in Nail Polish Swatches

In the previous post I promised to show you my new Dance Legend nail polishes. Today there will be the 1st one of them, a dark vampy red shade called Caravan from Sahara Crystal collection:

Caravan is a blackened base with purple micro glitter. In the bottle I can also see gold sparkles, but on my nails the gold disappears. Here’s how it looks like behind the glass:

I also took a pic of the contents, in case you are interested to see the formula:

In the pics here you can see 2 coats of Caravan over Lumene Gloss and Care base without a top.

It’s my first liquid sand nail polish, and the finish seems quite unique. I was even surprised of how it looked and felt in real life, not bad at all :) My nails surface was matte and felt rough, almost like sandpaper, but it wasn’t sharp and therefore it didn’t bother me. Let me show you a close up shot:

Overall, the Sahara Crystal collection includes 18 shades, and all of them have this trendy liquid sand finish. I recieved 2 colors for review, one of them being Caravan and the other is called Wine Stone. I haven’t tried Wine Stone on my nails yet, but I took a couple of pics to compare the shades.

Here you can see Dance Legend #15 Caravan and above it there’s #10 Wine Stone (sunlights thru the clouds):

Then I added to the comparison one of my favorite OPI colors – We’ll Always Have Paris (in the middle):

I think Caravan is somehow supposed to look like OPI’s Stay the Night, but the polishes are different. Unfortunately I don’t have STN, but if I get it I’ll sure do a comparison :)

By the way, I was afraid this liquid sand will be a big pain to remove. Actually it wasn’t :) It took longer than a creme nail polish removal but definitely not as bad as glitter removal.

Now I’m looking forward to try Wine Stone, so more swatches are coming soon :)
Thank you for reading! xxx
