Red roses of the Grey Area

January 4th, 2013 | Posted by Mari in Flowers & leaves | Lace | Nail Art Designs | Nail Polish Swatches

As the title suggests, today’s nail design is about red roses on grey. The grey part is played by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Grey Area 330.

Grey Area is a complex color, with a name that suits it well. It looks grey in the bottle but somehow it’s a bit purple too, and a bit brown too. A perfect stormy mix of 3 colors in one bottle :) Much better than a simple flat grey.

Sally Hansen did a great job – Grey Area is smooth, creamy and opaque in two thin coats. It’s beautiful on its own, or as a base for nail art and other effects like glitters or color combinations. This time I combined it with China Glaze Kalahari Kiss in freehand lace nail art on my accent fingers.

Red roses on the tips are painted with Rimmel Riviera Red. I’ve already said a lot about that amazing red shade, so I’ll keep silence for today :))

For the red roses nail design I needed:

  • Clear base
  • SH Xtreme Wear Grey Area 330 (2 coats)
  • China Glaze Kalahari Kiss 80528
  • Rimmel Riviera Red 323
  • Clear top
