A England Elaine with a saran wrap accent

I got A England’s Elaine about 5 months ago, and all this time it has been sitting in my untrieds box, taunting me. Now its time has come, as solemn as it may sound :)

A England Elaine

The pictures were taken in daylight, without flash. In the pics I have 2 coats of A England Elaine over Lumene Gloss and Care base. The finish was glossy, but since I did some nail art, I applied 1 coat of a clear top to all my nails.

Orly Pure Porcelain

For the accent nail I used the so-called saran wrap technique: I applied 2 coats of Orly Pure Porcelain, waited for it to dry, and then I applied A England Guinevere using plastic wrap. Doing so I got that popular marble nails effect. I must admit I liked the result pretty much, and I’ll use the technique again for other designs for sure :)
I needed the accent nail to match the base dark purple color I had on the rest of my nails, so I painted 2 curved stripes with Elaine over the marble design, and then I added one more stripe with Guinevere.

So… why did I use so much purple in the design? The answer is (dont laugh!) I decided to continue with the 31 Day Challenge, that I shamefully quit last year. I saw some girls completed the Challenge twice! And I thought it would be good to finish what I started.
This was my Day 21: Inspired by a Color and I chose purple. Hopefully, over the next 2 weeks you are going to see my nail designs inspired by books, movies, fashion, songs, and all the rest that is on the Challenge list :)
Thank you for reading and see you soon xxx

  1. I love saran wrap, even if I’ve only done it once :D I should do it more often! Yours is so lovely!

  5. This is really nice I hope you’ll finish your challenge this time, I’ve never even tried I know that I wouldn’t finish it or I wouldn’t be able to do it day by day like some other girls.

Well, I simply wouldn’t have enough time to do a new manicure every day for 31 day in a row.. I’ll keep my pace :)
