Christmas is in the air! All nail polish blogs that I follow are full of festive designs and Christmas nails challenges :) Let me join the girls and show you a simple holiday nail art:
Yep, a good old candy cane design! The pattern is well known, so what can make it more unique are great colors and some nail decorations. This time I painted my nails with OPI The Spy Who Loved Me, which is a cheerful red with a fine golden shimmer. The color comes from the new OPI Holidays 2012 collection inspired by James Bond movies. I wouldn’t say I’m a big fan of James Bond adventures, but I watched several films, and when I have a chance I’d love to see the latest one, Skyfall too.
The Spy Who Loved Me in the bottle and on my nails (2 coats + 1 coat of a clear top):
For the accent I used Sally Hansen White On as a base, and over it I freehand painted red and green stripes. I didn’t use tape (I was too lazy to wait for the base color to dry), but I did have to wait for the stripes to get completely dry before applying a thick layer of a clear top. Right after that I quickly applied 4 pear shaped golden rhinestones on the green stripe in the middle of the design.
The result – my candy cane Christmas nail art a bit closer:
The products I used:
- OPI The Spy Who Loved Me – red sparkling base color, and I also used it to paint the red stripes
- SH White On – white base for the accent
- Alessandro Green Genie – green stripes
- Clear top coater
- Golden rhinestones
Well, I hope you liked it :) I still have one more week to try some other festive nail designs that I have in mind, so I see you soon ;) and meanwhile I wish you a great weekend! xxx
