I was going to post plain swatches of Sally Hansen Wet Cement (which is a light grey nail polish with creme finish), but then I thought that you probably have already seen it and not once, so I added a bit of colorful nail art to the ring finger.
I started off with applying Lumene Gloss and Care base, and waited for my nails to dry – it took me just a couple of seconds. Then I applied 3 thin coats of SH Wet Cement on all my nails.
Sally Hansen’s brush and formula are usually good, but this time I had bold spots even after 2nd coat, hence the 3rd one. After the polish was dry to touch but still soft, I painted a yellow square on my accent nail using a nail art brush, and then I added an orange square using the standard L’Oreal nail polish brush. Painting lines and squares on the nail tips is always easier :) I didn’t use tape for the nail design because I simply didn’t want to wait for the base color to be completely dry.
For the nail design I needed:
- Sally Hansen Wet Cement – light grey base color
- Sephora Yellow Umbrella – yellow squares
- L’Oreal Lush Tangerine 303 – orange squares
- Orly Luxe for golden lines
- Clear top coater to even the nail surface
About a week ago I tried to do this 4 square nail art on all my nails at once, in different color combination. I was hoping to get a bright and cheerful look, and I ended up with my nails looking clownish :)) Actually the result was quite expectable, but as they say you’ll never know for sure until you try ^^ To me this geometric nail design looks much better and appropriate when worn on 1-2 accent fingers, and that’s exactly what I did this time :)
Thank you for reading!
I’m glad you decided to add the extra little bit of nail art. It looks so cool!! :)
Thank you Karen :)
It started as a gloomy morning, so I decided to add bright colors on my nails..
This is soooo elegant, simple and beautiful!!
Thank you :)
This is a really nice way to brighten up a grey polish like this :) and your lines, so straight for free hand :)
I drew the lines with a detailed nail art brush, and also Orly Luxe is very easy to paint with, it’s not too thick/thin and its well pigmented :)
