September… The weather starts turning cooler, neon nail polishes get put away in the box in favor of darker, fall appropriate shades. Sigh. A bittersweet goodbye to summer!
Today’s color is one of those that I love to wear throughout fall and winter, usually matched up with jeans. It’s Lumene #37 Hazy Beach:
The color itself is gorgeous – a creamy teal with a hint of blue. I confess, I love any shade of teal :) While being unconventional, teal nail polishes are just as wearable as many neutral shades. They are not loud or eye-catching, they are simply “different”.
The application on this one is easy thanks to its formula and brush. I must say I adore Lumene’s wide flat brushes that are rounded at the tip.
Here you can see 2 coats of Lumene Hazy Beach over Gloss and Care Lumene strengthening base (with no top):
The only downside of the polish I can think of is that it did get one small chip the next day. Maybe it’s me not being careful, or the lack of topcoat. It’s not a problem for me though, because usually I don’t wear nail polishes for longer than 2-3 days.
When I saw Hazy Beach for the first time, it instantly reminded me of my favorite Ski Teal We Drop by OPI. The comparison is yet to be done (I’m still waiting for the new color wheels to arrive), so for now I can only say that they are different. STWD looks slightly greener and darker in the bottle than Hazy Beach.
As always, thank you for stopping by :) Have a great day! xxx
It’s a very pretty teal, very elegantly photographed too :)
Thank you Maria :)
A polish like this could cure my sadness that the summer is over :) I’ll have to try to mix something up because I haven’t seen anything similar in stores :)
Oh dear :(( There must be smth similar in other brands, I’ve already mentioned OPI, and there’s also Orly’s Sapphire Silk, and I think that Sally Hansen had a teal creme in there Salon Manicure line..
I hope you will find a beautiful teal very soon! :) *hugs*
OPI’s are pretty expensive here, and Orly and SH I could just order over the internet but I don’t have paypal, well I’ll figure something out :)
