Hello :) Let me show you my version of Day 12 of the Challenge: Striped Nails. I did a Burberry kind of nail art, but for the base color I picked grey instead of their famous light brown:
I decided on the grey base because today I was wearing a grey long sleeve shrug (used as a background here) and dark grey jeans. So it was a perfect match :)
For the striped nails I used:
- Base color – Rimmel Grey Matter 805
- White stipes – Maybelline Colorama 51 French White
- Black stripes – Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out
- Red stripes – Sephora Cherry Popsicle
- Nail art brush #0 for fine lines
- A thicker nail art brush for white stripes
- Clear top – Orly Glosser
By the way, funny thing about the white Colorama nail polish: I hate it with all my heart and yet I continue to use it! It’s with me for more than a year already. The polish is awfully streaky, thick and hard to paint my nails with. I will never repurchase it, and I know I need to buy a good white cream, but every time I go shopping I either forget or smith else happens… Anyway, back to the striped nails of the day, this is how it looks from a distance:
That’s it for today, and I hope you liked my striped nails challenge mani :) Me off now, see you xxx
Oh that is full of awesome.
You are a perfectionist, no?
I think I’m not.. or I hope I’m not :)
Wow these look amazing!
thanks ^^
These stripes are so straight :D and I like this version better than regular brown one
I think lots of color combinations would look great with this Burberry-style pattern :)
Done something similar the other day :) But it’s not so perfect like yours :D
great minds think alike lol btw nothing is perfect, you shld have seen the white lines painted with that goopy Colorama nail polish! they weren’t smooth at all until I framed them with the black ones..
Looks great! I’d never manage to paint the stripes SO straight and neat :)
Hello! I visited your blog and I’m really impressed by all your designs and ideas. I’ll sure stop by again… and not once ;)
PS: I hope you don’t mind that I moved your previous comment on that coral nail polish to the ru section, I just don’t want to mix it all up.
I finally figured out why I like this design so much…
In my twenties I dated a wonderful girl in the upper peninsula of Michigan. She was very outdoorsy — she would hunt and fish and chop wood — all while wearing absolutely perfect acrylic nails. Always french. She could kill a deer, field dress it, and hang it up, then go inside and wash her hands and her nails would have nary a scratch or chip. To this day I am not sure how she did it. She would never, ever leave the house without perfect nails.
This design, with the gray polish, reminds me of the outdoors. The pattern reminds me of a plaid jacket. I can picture you sitting at a campfire with your husband or boyfriend on a chilly night, toasting marshmallows, wearing that good old gray hooded sweatshirt, him wearing a red plaid jacket, your nails complimenting both of you. Very romantic and sexy.
wow, she must be a very special girl :) I seriously doubt I could go hunting or chop wood, no matter with or without long nails!
and thank you for such a romantic picture, it sounds nice! ..except for my husband wearing the red plaid jacket – he would never wear it lol he’s into black metal and programming and most of his wardrobe is about black/dark clothes.. sometimes with skulls and bones :))
I love this, the colors work so great together :)
I cannot see how I can follow you, like on Blogger blogs, where we have a Goggle Friend Connect?
I don’t have GFC unfortunately.. :(
I have Twitter account where I post links to my NOTD regularly, and also I have RSS :)
Oh, crap, I’m not on twitter, and I don’t know what RRS is LOL
I might just have to add you to my blog list,so that I can keep track of you that way!
I only got a Twitter account because of the blog and I’m still new there, but I found so many great nail polish bloggers there and it’s easier to share ideas.. If ever you register an account there, plz let me know, I’d be happy to add you :)
